Is my medical information safe?

What if I don't have cell service?
Your medical card is cached on your phone and works offline β€” no signal required to display it to a doctor. Emergency calling and family alerts do require a cell or WiFi connection.
What languages does VIVA translate to?
At launch in Panama, VIVA fully supports English and Spanish β€” the two languages that matter for expats and local operators there. As VIVA expands to additional countries, new language pairs are added by configuration. No app update required for you.
How does the AI translation actually work?
First, VIVA places the emergency call and sends your medical summary and GPS β€” that part never depends on translation. When the connection supports it, VIVA also bridges the language gap live: you speak English, the dispatcher hears Spanish, and their replies come back to you in English. If conditions don't allow live translation in the moment, your translated medical card and location have already been delivered β€” so help is still on the way.
Does it work outside of Panama?
Phase 1 is Panama β€” that's the full focus for Q1 2027 launch. If you trigger VIVA outside Panama before additional countries go live, the app dials the local emergency number and displays your medical card, but the private dispatch network and full AI translation bridge are Panama-specific at launch. New countries launch with the same full experience as Panama β€” we'll notify you when your region goes live.
